THE RIGHT MINDSET

written by alexissalaam

Most people failed at accomplishing their goals, and this is mostly due to their mindset, and believe it or not that is the main reason why 10% of the people in this country make 90% of the money.

Achieving a money making mindset is very difficult especially if you were not taught to think like this while you were growing up. This is the basic principle Robert Kiyasaki talks about in his book Rich Dad Poor Dad, the mindset you must acquire to build a successful business.

Your online business is just as important as any brick and mortar business and you must be in the right mindset to treat it as such, and that includes goal setting I can’t explain how important this is, sticking to your goals and seeing them through one day at a time. Set a time schedule to complete your goals, maybe start off with monthly goals and then naturally progress.

I had problems with finishing goals since I started my online business for the last few years it has been a struggle sticking to my goal setting schedule, but like I said I was not in the right mindset, let me give you an example of what I’m talking about.

Most people who aren’t use to being in a business mindset are afraid to ask for compensation for their time. Your time is very important and you must be compensated for it , if not with money then with at least a testimonial if you spend an hour on the phone helping somebody build a blog they should be more than happy to give you $25.00 or a short testimony.

Every year the Oracle Of Omaha Warren Buffet gets at least $500,000.00 for a luncheon date which he donates to his favorite charity. By no means am I comparing myself to Warren Buffet, but if he can get $500,00.00 for somebody to pick his brain why can’t we get $25 to $50 an hour and the more knowledge you have that price goes up significantly.

  1. Hi there, You are absolutely right. Having proper mindset is the foundation of success in anything in life. It is a huge shift and a process that takes time. However books like the one you mentioned makes that transition easier.

Another book of Robert’s that I really enjoyed was “The Business School for people who like helping people.” In this book Robert talks about network marketing and why it is a great avenue for entrepreneurial individuals to learn business principles and mindset.

Also on your last point, I do agree that we need to value our time. It is more than o.k to charge for our time and services. That said, most people don’t feel comfortable because they’re not use to it.

Thank you for sharing this article. I enjoyed reading it.

      Hi Neseret

Thanks for coming by, yes I love Robert’s stuff he’s one of the reasons I started seeking knowledge about business.People need to understand that their running a business and you need to get paid for your services, that doesn’t mean you have to stop helping people I’ll be disappointed if they did we are suppose to help people but lets remember we also have to take care of our families.

      Take care Ness

  2. Hi Alexis,
I enjoyed reading your post about the importance of the right mindset.

Time is vary valuable and if we provide a good service we should ask to be compensated fairly.

However, some caution is needed here.

Time needs to be used properly. There are people who want to be compensated for the time in which they didn’t create any value or provided any service.

Robert Kiyasaki is a great author and his understanding of business is remarkable.

      Hi Vance
Thanks for stopping by, yes the right mindset is what’s separates the winners from losers and sometime it’s not always about collecting money because good will goes a long way and if it’s done sincerely you will be paid back 10 fold.

      Have a good one Vance.

  3. You nailed it right on the head!

Many people struggle getting things done or “finishing goals” as you put it.

Getting the right mindset is important.

The only thing more important is getting your heart right. Too many people focus on the get rich quick mentality and fail to operate for a solid foundation.

Thanks for the post. Great job!

      Hi Ed
Thanks for stopping by my blog yes you’re right
your must have your heart in the right place you have to sincerely want to help people and inturn
      the money will come

A lot of people I talked to have to be reminded that their running a business and not a charity of course you want to help people but don’t let yourself get taking advantage of.

      Have good one Ed.

  4. Hi Alexis,

    Great post,

I agree with Vance, people need to create value first before they can be compensated and there are people out there that don’t provide any value and look for something in return.

Really like your blog Alexis keep up the good work.

      Hey Nick

I also agree with Vance before people are willing
to pay you they have to see that you know what your
      talking about.

What I’m saying that they’re are a lot of people out
there that are just scared to ask for compensation
because they’re just aren’t use to being in a position of power, and believe me once you have the knowledge you have power.

      Thanks for coming by.

  5. The right mindset, I’m glad I saw this post. It is always good to be reminded to keep the right mindset keeping negativity out of the way.
